Daisy,
Alma Marie Price-Lamb, age 57 passed away Friday, January 20, 2023, at Evans Memorial Hospital in Claxton. She was born in Claxton on October 7, 1965, to Earl Leon and Retha Ann Harn Price and had lived in Evans County most of her life. Her formative years were spent in the Evans County School system where she would go on to be in the Evans County High School graduating class of 1983. She would spend many years of her life serving the public good. Not only would she take on the toughest of jobs, as a correctional officer with Georgia Department of Corrections, but she would also serve the Candler County Sherriff’s office, jailer, and dispatcher for Bryan County Sherriff’s office, and as a dispatcher for Tattnall County 911. Furthering her service to her community, she was also employed with Evans Memorial Hospital. Later in her life, she would ensure that the logistics of the country were attended to. Alma would work with Canoochee Transport as a dispatcher and later as the business administrator for Justin and Austin Trucking. Her life of service was evident in each job she held throughout her life. Her career history, her peers, and family would learn that she had a heart of gold and was willing to give everything she had to make other’s lives better. Moreover, she would be looked upon as a trusted advisor and “mother” figure to all that would seek her wise counsel. The entire community of Daisy and surrounding Evans County knew her to be a rock and pillar of the community. In her free time, she was a passionate dabbler. She loved to try various artistic and hobby crafts; never mastering many and completing far less! Nonetheless, with her fearless spirit, she was a lifelong learner. She was far better at gardening. It was widely known that she could grow anything and was truly blessed with a green thumb. Additionally, in keeping with her civic servant heart, she was an avid supporter of Ezel Lodge 335. Alma’s heart of gold was a gift from God above and she served Him as a member of the Claxton Church of God. Alma was a graced with a gentle and giving spirit and she will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sons, Austin Matteson, and Bradley Clifton.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Timie Lamb of Daisy; son, Justin Price (Calli Beasley) of Claxton and a daughter, Brittany (Wes) Kennedy of Reidsville; siblings, Susan Huggins of Reidsville and George Allen Price of Daisy; grandchildren, Taylor, and Eli Kennedy; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
