Obituary

Alvin I. Collins, age 58 passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2010at Memorial MedicalCenter in Savannah. He had lived in Tattnall County most of his life and served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He retired from the Ft. Stewart fire department after 32 years of service. In his spare time, he loved to fish, hunt and play golf. He was a member of Glennville First Christian Church. He is preceded in death by his father Gene Collins.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years Libby Collins of Reidsville. Mother, Betty J. Collins of Pine Harbor, Ga. Three daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda and Kenny Zimmerman of Tallahassee, FL., Lainey and Michael Johnston of Reidsville, Britton Collins of Reidville. Two grandchildren, Miles and Riley Zimmerman.  Mother and father-in-law, Mary Kate and Bill Fleming of Darien. Three nephews, Connor, Gibbs, and Will Ryals.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be Saturday, May 29, 2010 from 1pm-3pm with funeral services to follow at 3:00pm from the Glennville Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home with the Reverend Gregg Usry and the Reverend Jack Snellgrove officiating. Interment will be in the Glennville City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Terry Collins, Lamar Cook, Charles Tillman, Graham Lewis, Ritchie Ryals, Gary Ryals, Kyle Durrence, Dennis Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be  employees and retired employees of the Ft. Stewart Fire Department

Preferred Charities and Donations

Remembrances may be made to Glennville First Christian Church or Pineview Baptist Church.
