Amber Renee Gay, 30, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Candler Hospital in Savannah.  She was born on October 2, 1994 in Reidsville to Wade and Hope Dasher Gay and had lived in Glennville all of her life. She graduated from Tattnall County High School in 2013, where she laid the foundation for a purposeful life dedicated to public service. Amber was a dedicated correctional officer who devoted herself to serving at Rogers State Prison and Smith State Prison. 

Amber had a vibrant personality that drew people to her. She cherished her time with family, always finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her love for food was evident; she had a true passion for exploring new cuisines and sharing meals with loved ones. Beyond her culinary interests, Amber found solace in music, often using it as a backdrop for moments spent with family or when she wanted to unwind.

Maintaining an adventurous spirit, Amber enjoyed keeping the roads hot, embracing the freedom of the open road. Her zest for life was infectious, reminding everyone around her of the importance of living in the moment and savoring every experience.

She was a member of Birdford Baptist Church and is preceded in death by her grandmother, Linda Fletcher and her aunt, Andrea Gay.

Amber Renee Gay is survived by her loving parents, Wade and Hope Gay of Glennville; her siblings, Tara (Ben) Ray of Valdosta and Brandon (Emily) Gay of Vidalia; grandmother, Janet Anderson of Glennville; her uncles, Dennis Dasher of Glennville, Adrian (Cindy) Gay of Jacksonville and Anthony (Kim) Gay of Jacksonville; aunt, Amanda (Rick) Conaghan of VA; special nephew, Harlen Ray and a niece that is due on March 30, Baylor Gay; several cousins

The family will be receive friends on Sunday, February 2, 2025 beginning at 1:00pm with the funeral service to follow at 2:00pm at the Glennville Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Summers officiating.  Interment will follow in the Gay Family Cemetery in Hazlehurst.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Gay, Ben Ray, Dennis Dasher, Kenneth Jackson, Sam Chastain and Cary Helms

Glennville Funeral Home has the honor to serve the Gay family.
