Mrs. Ann Calhoun James Strickland, age 78 passed away Friday, May 30, 2014 at her daughter’s residence in Collins under the care of Affinis Hospice. The Dooley County native had lived in Tattnall County most of her life. She was a retired seamstress working many years with Leon’s in the Statesboro Mall. Mrs. Ann loved to crochet and make ceramics. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Harold James and Van Strickland; son, Carlos Lamar James; and a brother, Richard Calhoun.
She is survived by her children, Lawanna Gibson of Jesup, Adel (Tony) Oliver and Johnny James all of Collins; five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren; one great great grandson; one niece and one nephew.
Visitation will begin at 6:00pm Sunday from the Reidsville Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm Monday, June 2, 2014 from the Reidsville Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home with the Reverend David Moxley officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church Cemetery in Toombs County.
