Annette Anderson Hightower, age 77 passed away Friday, June 21, 2019 at Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia surrounded by her family. She was born in Collins on November 29, 1941 to Bernice and Gladys Oliver Anderson. She was reared in Collins, living in Metter for many years before moving back to Collins in 1997. She was the owner and operator of Kennedy Florist in Metter for many years and was a talented seamstress. She dearly loved children which showed when she served as a substitute teacher in the Candler County School system and when she provided childcare in her home. Mrs. Annette is a member of Cedar Street Baptist Church in Metter and is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Aaron Anderson and Marian Anderson Oliver.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Hightower of Collins; children, Tamie (Donny) Wells of Metter, Pamela (Lance) Holloway of Metter, and Keith (Jodi) McGowan of Statesboro; stepchildren, Jim Rowe Hightower of Atlanta, Jane (William) Stanley of Reidsville, Rev. Larry (Teresa) Hightower Jr. of Lyons, and Marika (Mark) Crews of Reidsville; sisters, Christine ( Millard) Williams of Swainsboro, Joyce Thomas of Collins, Jewel Logan of Collins, Loree (Harold) Foskey of Collins, Thelma(Gary) Randle of Marietta, Carolyn (Larry) Hilliard of Collins, Becky (Bobby) Schwallenberg of Collins; 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; 9 step grandchildren; 7 step great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends beginning at 6:00pm on Monday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted 10:00am Tuesday June 25, 2019 at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville with Reverend Larry Hightower, Jr officiating.262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105
