Annie Lou O’Briant (Hunt), known as”Miss Ann” peacefully passed away at her Reidsville home residence of 38 years on July 4, 2024. She had many friends and family continuously praying for her to have a peaceful journey into Gods kingdom to receive her promotion. She was under the care of Community Hospice.

She was born in Reidsville, Georgia on December 6, 1928, to Sallie and Johnnie Hunt where she resided until 1944. She moved to DeLand, Florida where she had several jobs as a ATT phone operator and waitress. In-between working she was attending a business school to become a secretary. After graduating she accepted a job in Washington DC as a pentagon courier. While working for the Pentagon she met her future Army husband, Kenneth Green O’Briant, Jr who was stationed in Norfolk, Va. After marrying, they traveled to many Army bases all around the United States and did two tours in Germany. During this time she was a full time wife and mother. After retiring from the Army after over 30 years, they returned to Deland, Fl where all of her family now lived. During her time in DeLand she had multiple job endeavors. In 1987 after her children had grown and started their own life, she and her husband return to her hometown, Reidsville, GA. She started working at Tattnall Memorial Hospital and continued employment with Optim Healthcare for 28 years until she retired at the age of 88 years young. During her time in Reidsville she was also lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary and volunteer as a pink lady. Miss Ann was known for her wonderful baked breads and cakes. Everyone wanted to know what her secret was in making such delicious baked goods and her answer was always “Made with lots of TLC”. Her other hobbies were gardening, sewing and reading. 

She is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth G. O'Briant, Jr., and her parents Sallie and Johnnie Hunt of Tattnall County, and her brother Eddie Theron Hunt of Monticello, Fl.

She is survived by her Daughters: Sally J. Card(Jim), Minneola, Fl, Bonny F. Hiles(Stan), DeLand, Fl, Alice Catherine O’Briant, Roanoke, Va, Sons: Timothy Michael O’Briant(Brenda), Murphy,NC, Kenneth G. O’Briant III, Reidsville,Ga, Sisters: Eileen Waples, Emma Lee Morgan, Martha Jo Lee, all from Deland, Fl., Bonnie Ruth Brown, Nunez, Ga., Linda Faye Fisher (Bob), Orange City, FL. Also many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews whom she loved with all her heart. 

There will be no memorial service per her request and in lieu of flowers to please donate to their favorite charity in her name.
