At the young age of 38, Ashley Lynn Agers Harrison passed away peacefully after a long illness on Jan.18, 2024, at Hospice Savannah. Ashley was born Feb. 19, 1985, in Augusta, Ga. and grew up on Wilmington Island. Ashley graduated from Johnson High School. She earned a degree in Early Child Development from Georgia Southern University and became a licensed practical nurse in 2013. She was the school nurse at May Howard until last year when she became ill. Ashley was happy in this position because she could be off when her children were out of school and could spend time with them.
Ashley married Cole Harrison in 2011 and together they had two sons, Andrew and Cameron. She also is survived by her parents, Phyllis and Mark Simons, her brother, Caleb (Jordan), grandmother, Geri Simons, a special aunt, Sherri Cadman, and other aunts and uncles and many cousins, a special friend, Debbie Glisson, as well as Mike and Sheila Agers. She is also survived by her in laws, Hudson and Lynn Harrison, sister-in-law Kate Harrison and her nephew, Hudson Newman.
Ashley was a fun and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to so many. The family would like to thank the teachers at May Howard who have supported her family during the last year. And extra thanks to her close friends, Nell Thomas Clemons, Charlotte King Smith, and Nikki Chisholm for all they have done.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024, at First Baptist Church of the Islands with the Rev. Brooks Cail officiating. A reception in the church social hall will be held immediately following the service. Guests may wear casual attire.
Remembrances may be made to Hospice Savannah or to the charity of your choice in Ashley’s name.
