Ms. Atha W. Phillips age 90 passed away Friday April 26, 2013 at Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Center in Statesboro surrounded by her family. The Baxley native had lived in Reidsville most of her life. She was a homemaker that loved to take care of her family. Ms. Phillips is a member of Friendship Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Phillips; sons, Lewis, Jr., Freddie and Gene Phillips; and a sister, Katherine O’Hearn.
She is survived by her children, William Henry “Cathy” Phillips of Hollywood, FL, Jerry (Johnnie) Phillips of Ocala, FL, Liz Todd of Glennville; Terry (Delores) Phillips of Savannah, Donnie (Tammy) Phillips of Guyton, Gary (Paula) Phillips of Summerville, SC, Timmy (Melody) Phillips of Faulkville, Sandi (Glen) Morgan of Savannah; and Denise (Barry) Sanders of Collins; brother, George Wise of Aiken, SC; sister, Juanita Gude of Dade City, FL, nineteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 3:00pm Sunday from the Reidsville Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am Monday April 29, 2013 from the Reidsville Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home with the Reverend Kenny Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dale Howell, Zach Morgan, Terry Phillips, Jr., Shelby Phillips, Kristian Phillips and Bill Phillips, Jr.
