Barbara (Douglas) Gales

Mrs. Barbara Douglas Gales, age 73, passed away Friday, July 6, 2018 at her residence under the care of Affinis Hospice.  She was born in Waycross on December 23, 1944 to Robert and Barbara Douglas.  She grew up in Jacksonville, FL and had lived the past twenty years in Albany before recently moving to Claxton.  She loved to keep up with her friends on Facebook.  Mrs. Barbara was a Christian and is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Patricia Douglas and a half brother, Wayne Douglas.

She is survived by her children, Terri (Terry) Vegter of Chicago, Randall (Heather) Balkcom of Dawson, GA, Greg (Candice)McNeil of Albany, Stephanie Robertson of Claxton, and Melissa Martin of Leesburg, GA; sisters, Jan (Craig) O’Dell of SC and Deborah (George) Larkin of Destin, FL; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00pm on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at the Glennville Funeral Home.  Graveside funeral services will follow at 3:00pm at the Glennville City Cemetery.
