Barbara Harvey

Mrs. Barbara Nell Hackle Harvey, age 90, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2024 at Community Hospice in Vidalia following an extended illness. She was born in Daisy, GA (Evans County) on January 1, 1934 to Robert Nathan “Rob” Hackle and Bessie Hall Hackle and lived many years in Toombs County before moving to Reidsville 45 years ago. She was a 1952 graduate of Toombs Central School where her class was the first class to go to the 12th grade. She had worked at the Matador Restaurant and was a beautician for many years and enjoyed fishing, camping and watching her stories on the tv.

Mrs. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Robert Bragdon and her second husband of 59yrs, Ray Harvey that passed away on May 9, 2023; sisters, Eva Connell, Eloise H. Bennett and her husband, Raymond; Juliette H. Durden and her husband, F.M. “Sonny”; brothers, Alben Hackle and R.N. Hackle, Jr.; brothers in law, Bill Corley, David Harvey and J.I. Harvey; nieces, Teresa Durden McKinley and Mary Taylor and a great niece, Amanda Lynn.

She is survived by her son, Randy Bragdon of Lyons; her daughter in law, Debbie W. Bragdon of Lyons; grandsons, Robby (Jessica) Bragdon of Ashville, NC and Josh (Kharissa) Bragdon of Lyons; great grandchildren, Cooper, Sawyer and Tristan Bragdon; sister, Cleta Beth Corley of Reidsville; sisters in law, Nevelyn Hackle of Jeffersonville, GA and Mary Lou (Bill) Stovall of Vidalia; her life time best friend, Bobbie Jean Collins McCoy; nieces and nephews, Sharon C. Hicks, Robbiette B. Kicklighter, Lana D. Miles, Sherri Hackle Lynn, Hilda Taylor, Denise Harvey Morris, Dave Harvey, Dwayne Corley, Greg Hackle, Danny Hackle, David Hackle, Glen Hackle and Gary Hackle.

The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00am on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at the funeral home with the funeral services to follow at 11:00am with Dr. Rick Cason officiating. Interment will be in the Reidsville City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Wolaver, Josh Bragdon, Robby Bragdon, Tristan Bragdon, Cooper Bragdon and Sawyer Bragdon.
