Becky T (Thompson) Anderson

Becky “Twiggy” Anderson, age 59, passed away Tuesday November 26, 2013 at her home in Statesboro surrounded by her family and under the loving care of Gentiva Hospice.   The Claxton native was born to Buddy and Evelyn Thompson January 1, 1954.  Twiggy was a high spirited woman who loved life and was passionate about her job in the medical field.  She was a surgical technician at St. Joseph’s/Candler Hospital for much of her career.   Later in life she truly relished being known as “Granny Grump” or “Puddin Nana” to her grandchildren.  Becky will be remembered as a caring and giving person who would give you anything she had; unless it was chocolate ice cream, only then would her and “Chubby” eat it all.

Mrs. Anderson is preceded in death by her parents, Buddy and Evelyn Thompson, four brothers; Robert, Ronald, Allen, and Anthony Thompson all of Claxton, one sister; Doris Dennis of Claxton, one nephew; JBall of Claxton, one niece; Amanda Dennis of Kentucky, and a brother in law; Rick Sermons.

Left to cherish her memories are her four children; Mark (Kelli) Deloach of Vidalia, Christopher (Amanda) Deloach of Metter, Lindsey Dunigan of Brookelet, Eric Tapley of Florida, four brothers; James (Janie) Thompson of Claxton, Harry Thompson of Claxton, Donald Thompson of Lyons, Henry Thompson of Glennville, three sisters; Betty Tapley of Girard, Ann Sermons of Claxton, Janie (Terry) Ball of Claxton,  nine grandchildren, one great grandchild, and a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday November 30 at Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home, Reidsville Chapel to honor her life and memories.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service for a period of remembrance and reflection.  All friends and family are invited to attend.
