GLENNVILLE,
Mr. Ben Tillman age 95 passed away Thursday, February 20, 2014 at his residence surrounded by family and under the care of Spanish Oaks Hospice. The Tattnall County native had lived in Glennville all of his life. He had received his Bachelors of Science Degree from Georgia Teachers College, now known as Georgia Southern University. He had taught school for seven years. Mr. Tillman was a World War II Veteran serving in the United States Army Air Corp and was a farmer. He was a member of the Hopewell United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Deborah Tillman of Glennville; four grandchildren, Kimberly Swanson, Charles Christian Tillman, Joshua Benjamin Tillman and Aaron Tompkins; four great grandchildren.
Mr. Tillman is also survived by, step son and daughter-in-law, Floyd and Debbie Thompson of Glennville; several step grandchildren; several step great grandchildren and a special friend, Linda Hammock of Glennville.
Visitation will begin at 6:00pm on Saturday, February 22, 2014 from the Glennville Chapel. Graveside Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00pm Sunday from the Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery.
