Bessie A. Bear, age 81 passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loving family and under the care of GHC Hospice from cancer. She was born on November 2, 1940  in Dryden, VA to Wilson Sturgill and Melissa Nell Durham.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Burl Bear, son Bobby Bear and one grandson.

She is survived by her daughter, Betty (Robert) Hodgson of Claxton, brothers Sammy Sturgill of FL and Danny Sturgill of VA, sisters Patty Gibson of FL and Margie Spears of NC, six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be private and burial will take place in the Family Cemetery in Dryden, VA
