Mrs. Betty Shuman Livingston, age 85 passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at her home surrounded by family and under the care of Gentiva Hospice. The Bryan County native had lived in Evans County most of her life. She was a nurse for many years and was the past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post 7764 in Reidsville, Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of “Cares” Hamm Radio Club. Mrs. Betty was also a devoted member of Antioch Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her son, Wilfred Nathaniel Livingston; brothers, Fred Shuman, Charles Bo Shuman, Charlie Shuman, Bobby “Pete” Shuman and Jerry Shuman and a sister, Juanita Todd.
She is survived by her husband, Wilfred “Floyd” Livingston of Claxton; sons, Henry (Becky) Morgan, III, and Larry (Wanda) Morgan all of Daisy; daughter, Patricia Evon Boyett of Manassas; sister, Helen Mitchell of Claxton; seven grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends beginning at 6:00pm on Thursday from Low Country Cremation Services and Burial in Glennville. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am Friday, March 20, 2015 from the Antioch Baptist Church with the Reverends Justin Gordon and Gary Bradham officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Evans County CARES.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy King, Larry Kennedy, Wayne Massey, Segal Glisson, Marty Todd, and Timmie Lamb.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Mrs. Betty’s Sunday School Class.
Low Country Cremation Services and Burial formerly Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home, Glennville Chapel is serving the Livingston family.
