Betty Bond (Ulmer) Willis

September 16, 1959 — October 4, 2021

Reidsville

Betty Willis, age 62, passed away Monday, October 4, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Affinis Hospice. She was born September 16, 1959, in Metter and had lived in Reidsville for the majority of her life. Betty will always be fondly remembered as one of the toughest yet most loving people you could ever meet. As fierce as a tiger when it come to nurturing and attending to her family; Betty was always attending to the needs of her husband, kids, and grandkids. Her loving ways were best expressed in her generosity to those in need; whether it was a home cooked meal, or a helping hand up, Betty had a heart for others. In business, she would not only manage the books for the family’s company (L&R Willis Construction), but she would own multiple businesses of her own: including a floral shop, a pawn shop, and a bait and tackle business. Betty never slowed down to pursue her own “hobbies” or interests. She was happiest when she was caring for her family (especially her husband), entertaining people in her home, or offering encouragement to others. Betty will forever be loved and adored by all whose lives she touched; she will be deeply missed. She is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Ronney Willis; parents, Dewey Ulmer, Jr., and Grace Tidwell; siblings, Dewey Ulmer, III, Peggy L. Ulmer, James Ulmer, and Angela Heather Tidwell.

She is survived by her children, Ronney Willis (April Case), Lee Willis (Natalie Nail) all of Reidsville, Caralyn Johnson (Charles Locke) of Vidalia, and Jessica (Lee) Dubberly of Glennville; siblings, Johnny Ulmer, Richard Ulmer, Wayne Ulmer and Joey Ulmer, Lee and Billy Tidwell; grandchildren, Daniel (Destiny) Willis, Brooklyn Willis, Alexis Willis Layne Willis, Gavin Willis, Tucker Willis, Aspen Johnson, Grayson Locke, Rilee Dubberly and McKenna Dubberly; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00am Thursday, October 7, 2021, from the Chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial with the funeral services to begin at 11:00am with Rev. Leland Jeffers officiating. Interment will follow in the Reidsville City Cemetery.
