Bettye Joyce Kingston

Seldom has God given so much too so many people through one woman, but He did.

Bettye Joyce Kingston was born unto the late Albert Daniel Pridgen and Walter Mae Bostic Timmons on May 21, 1956 in Glennville, GA. Our Heavenly Father saw fit to reward Bettye with her wings on October 8, 2020. Bettye was educated in the Tattnall County School System, where she won the National Spelling Bee Contest. Bettye later served and retired from the US Army. She attended basic training in 1976 at Fort McClellan, AL and AIT in Fort Rucker, AL. She served as an Air Traffic Control School assignment in Fort Bragg, NC and Korea. She was a member of The Word of New Beginning Pentecostal Church in Metter, GA; where she served as the mother of the church.

She later united into holy matrimony to Kent Kingston. To this union, a loving son was born, Jeremy Justin (Jonique) Kingston of Atlanta, GA. She also devoted herself and time into raising four adopted children; Quanshayla Williams, Latoya Williams, Semyra Williams and Jalique Williams; two brothers, Jerome Pridgen of Pembroke, GA. And Elize (Karen) Timmons of Savannah, GA; three sisters, Margaret (Max), Loretta Timmons and Della (Carl) Hendrix all of Glennville; grandchild, Carmen Kingston of Atlanta; aunt, Adell Murray of Statesboro; uncle, Terry Bostic of Metter; she also leaves to cherish her memories, two devoted and dedicated cousins, Evelyn (Garland) Smith of Reidsville, Zella (Billy) Johnson of Glennville and a loving Pastor/cousin Clarence (Kim) Bostic of Macon and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and sorrowing friends.

A wake will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Friday, October 16, 2020 at the Glennville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am Saturday, October 17, 2020 from the Chapel of Glennville Funeral Home.
