Betty Jean (Lynn) Slater

Reidsville,

Mrs. Betty Lynn Slater, age 87, passed away Monday, January 16, 2023, at Community Hospice Inpatient Center in Vidalia.  She was born in Collins on March 3, 1935, to Ellie and Zelma Mae Taylor Lynn.  She had lived in Emanual and Toombs County most of her life.  Mrs. Betty retired from Toombs Apparels where she was a seamstress for over 49 years.  She enjoyed taking care of her yards and her rental properties.  Mrs. Betty is a member of Stillmore Baptist Church and is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Felton Slater; children, Mary Ann Prescott and Tommy Champion; siblings, Myra Gagon, Lewis Lynn, Irma Lloyd and Louise Whitaker.

She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Linda and Jerry Bradley of Reidsville; sister, Mary Fennell of Reidsville; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; special friend, Patricia Pearce of Oak Park; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00pm on Saturday, January 21, 2023, with the funeral services to follow at 3:00pm with Dr. Charles Jonas officiating.  Interment will follow in the Reidsville City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bryan Champion, Brandon Champion, Jenny Herrington, Clegg Bazemore, Mark Durrence and Jerome Lynn.
