Big Ronney Willis, age 64, passed away Thursday, August 5, 2021, at Select Specialty Hospital in Savannah surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 11, 1956, in Cedar Crossing to Gordon and Louise Willis and had lived in Reidsville most of his life. Mr. Ronney as he was known to so many in the community was a talented craftsman. He was the owner of L&R Willis Construction Company for many years. The fruits of his labors can be seen all around Tattnall and many surrounding counties in the form of residential housing and commercial buildings alike. Hard work was a trademark of Mr. Ronney, but he will be most remembered for his generous and caring heart.  His behind-the-scenes generosity has helped countless individuals in this community. He never wanted any recognition or acclamation, but God above has surely recognized his heart.  In his free time, he would be found fishing or spending time with friends and family.  A man’s man in every sense of the word; his influence and impact on everyone he met will never be forgotten.  He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Carlton, David, Howard, James, Arley Bo, and Charles “Humpy” Willis and Melba Langston.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Betty B. Willis of Reidsville; sons, Little Ronney Willis (April Case) and Lee Willis (Natalie Nail) all of Reidsville; daughters, Carolyn Johnson (Charles Locke) Of Vidalia and Jessica (Lee) Dubberly of Glennville; siblings, Curtis (Hilda) Willis of Gray, Geraldine Davis of Lyons, Ricky (Cindy) Willis of Reidsville; sister in law, Libby Willis of Reidsville; grandchildren, Daniel (Destiny) Willis, Brooklyn Willis, Alexis Willis, Layne Willis, Gavin Willis, Tucker Willis, Aspen Johnson, Grayson Locke, Rilee Dubberly, and McKenna Dubberly; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 7, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted beginning at 3:00pm on Sunday, August 8, 2021, from the Chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial with Reverend Leland Jeffers officiating. Interment will follow in the Reidsville City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be James Corbett, Jason Bradley, Lew Graham, Spaz, Terry Tootle, and Shane Arnold.

Honorary pallbearers will be Randal Murray and Bill Simmons.
