Billy William Durrence

Mr. Billy Durrence, age 68, passed away Friday, August 19, 2016 at the Community Hospice Inpatient Center in Vidalia.  The Tyson native had lived in Palm Beach, FL many years moving back to Tattnall County in the late 80’s.  He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the US Army.  He was also a mechanic with certifications from small engines to boat engines to diesel engines.  In his free time he loved to go fishing.  Mr. Billy is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Eleanor Wilds Durrence; sisters, Lavonia Phillips and Ann Ryals.

He is survived by his son, Billyjack Durrence of Anderson, SC; siblings, Jerry Durrence of Collins, Joseph Durrence and Shirley Rucker both of Reidsville, and Donna Hendrik of Sherman, TX; grandson, Calvin Durrence; several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends beginning at 5:00pm on Tuesday from the funeral home.  Graveside funeral services will be conducted 10:00am Wednesday, August 24, 2016 from the Stoney Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
