Bobby Ray Carter, Sr.  age 73 passed away on May 10th at Southeast Georgia Health System after a long illness. A native of Blackshear, GA, he lived most of his life in Waycross before moving to Brunswick in 2005. He was a longtime member of Jamestown Baptist Church and became a member of The Chapel after moving to Brunswick. He retired from CSX railroad in 1987 after over 20 years. He was an avid fisherman, loved the outdoors and enjoyed working in his yard. His other hobbies included photography, collecting and watching sports. Mr. Bobby was a loving husband, father, papa and uncle who enjoyed his family and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hobson L. and Mamie L. Carter; brothers, DJ, Benny and Loren; sisters, Louise Lee and Athylene Taylor.

Survivors include his wife, Gale; sons, Ray (Paige) of Blackshear, GA and Derek of Brunswick, GA; brothers, Carl Carter (Gail) of Largo, FL and Donny Carter (Wanda) of Waycross, GA; sister, Genevieve Jordan of Waycross; grandchildren, Ryan Carter and Megan Carter of Blackshear and many nieces & nephews.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 12th from 1:00pm to 2:00 pm at The Chapel, 114 Harris Farm Rd., Brunswick, GA.  with a memorial service to follow at 2:30 pm.

Low Country Cremation and Burial is serving the Carter family.
