Bobby J. Holland, age 80, a cherished member of the Hillview Community and beloved family man, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 8, 2024, surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Regency Southern Care Hospice. Bobby was a lifelong resident of the Hillview Community and was born on January 17, 1944, to Loren L. and Mary Jane Bowen Holland. He was a 1962 graduate of Collins High School.
For many years, Bobby dedicated himself to serving others as a Rural Mail Carrier, a role that allowed him to connect with people throughout the area. Additionally, he was a committed farmer, specializing in agriculture, livestock, and poultry. His work reflected not only a strong work ethic but also a deep-rooted love for the land and community he served.
Alongside his professional life, Bobby's passions included spending time with his family. Those who knew him will remember his warm spirit and the joy he brought to those around him. He was a member of the Collins Baptist Church where he was a former deacon. He is preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Lanier Holland; his sisters and brothers in law, Annie Belle and Ryloh Kicklighter, Rose and Robert Sikes and Enman Threatt.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Linda Holland of Collins; his children, Holly (Derrell) Thigpen of Collins, Bob (Tisha) Holland of Collins, Kelly (Wesley) Weaver of NC, Shelly (Stuart) Wilcox of Collins and Haley (Jason) Peacock of Collins; sister, Lorena Threatt of Augusta. He is also survived by his grandchildren who proudly called him "Pa", Chelsea (Will) Jarriel, Cassidy Holland, Hayden Eubank, BeLynn Thigpen, Mary Elizabeth Wilcox, Maxwell Wilcox, Mia Eubank, Reagan Peacock, and Hayden Peacock; great grandson, Holland Jarriel; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial in Reidsville beginning at 5:00pm on Monday, December 9, 2024, with the funeral services to follow at 6:00pm with Reverend David Blalock officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be Derrell Thigpen, Wesley Weaver, Stuart Wilcox, Jason Peacock, Maxwell Wilcox and Will Jarriel
Memorials may be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
The family wants to thank Regency Southern Care Hospice for the love and compassion that they showed Bobby.
