Bonnie Crosby Campbell, 94, died Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at her home at Magnolia Manor South in Moultrie, Ga. Born December 26,1920, in Brooks County, Ga., Mrs. Campbell was the daughter of the late Ellis Lee Crosby and the late Mary Dampier Crosby of Pavo, Ga. After completing high school in Pavo, Mrs. Campbell graduated from The Cheshire School of Beauty Cultures in Savannah, Ga., September, 1938, and moved to Moultrie to work in a large beauty shop owed by Ruby Price. In 1957, Mrs. Campbell established the first Merle Norman Cosmetics Studio and salon which was the first Try Before You Buy Cosmetic Company and the first Before and After Cosmetic Concept. Mrs. Campbell received her 42 year pen at a Merle Norman Conference ceremony in 1998. In 1960 she bought Ruby Price's salon. In 1961, she sold her building to C&S Bank and built a new beauty shop on Southwest First Street. Mrs. Campbell was a member of The Neille McDonald Sunday School Class, The United Methodist Women's Circle, and The First United Methodist Church for 60 years. She was also a member of the Modest Eaters Supper Club for about 63 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Alex Flournoy Campbell.

Mrs. Campbell is survived by her daughter, Teresa Campbell Miskell, of Duluth, Ga.; one brother, Hubert Robinson Crosby and wife, Gladys, of Pavo, Ga.; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Miskell Grimshawe and husband, Jarrod, of Duluth, Ga. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, July 18, at Antioch Magnolia Manor Chapel, 3011 Veterans Parkway, Moultrie, Ga., with Roy Reeves officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. before the funeral.
