English Eddy Community,
Mr. Broadus Pittman, age 81, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2016. The Toombs County native had been a lifelong resident of the English Eddy Community. He was a farmer and a logger. In his spare time he loved to go fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. In his later years he enjoyed spending time with his nephews around the Pittman Farms. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Carrie Bell Pittman; brothers, Clifford, Clyde, Felton, Billy, Hoyt, Richard, and David; sisters, Ossie Allen, Nadine Eddinger, and Betty Kuhn.
Mr. Broadus is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mrs. Joyce Pittman of the English Eddy Community; children, Dr. Ken Pittman of Longwood, FL, Cindy Pittman Johnson of Reidsville, and Pam Pittman (John) Lavender of Statesboro; brother, Jesse (Betty) Pittman of the English Eddy Community; grandchildren, Paul Vaughan, Nick (Caroline) Lavender, Emily Lavender, and Jenna Johnson; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends beginning at 6:00pm on Monday at the funeral home. Graveside funeral services will be conducted 10:00am Tuesday, July 19, 2016 from the Hardens Chapel Cemetery with the Reverend Melvin Kramer officiating.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Pittman, Hoyt Pittman, Jr., Timmy Pittman, Mitchell Pittman, Kyle Pittman, and Jonathan Pittman.
Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the Pittman family.
