Obituary
Carl Preslar , age 92 went home to be with the Lord and his beloved wife on Thursday November 1, 2012. He was at his residence under the care of his family, friends and Ogeechee Hospice. Mr. Preslar was a native of Tattnall County.  He delivered ice to many of the homes in the Reidsville area.  A veteran having served in the US Army for four years, he fought
in World War II and was at the Battle of the Bulge.  Most of his military service was done in combat.  After leaving from the military, Mr. Preslar worked nineteen years at Trailways Bus Lines as a bus driver and did another twenty six years at Southeastern Stages Bus Lines as a bus driver and a manager. He was known for being a generous man, who had a very loving heart and no one could tell a story better than him.  You could always find Carl in his garden, as he loved growing vegetables and enjoyed even more sharing them. He was a member of the VFW, The Reidsville Lions Club and a faithful member of The Reidsville United Methodist Church. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of sixty years, Tessie Norwood Preslar, his parents Leroy and Mattie Lee Preslar; cousins, Lois Strickland and Mildred Wiggins.
Mr. Preslar is survived by his family, Doyle and Barbara Todd of Savannah, Deloris Keith of Fancy Gap; Virginia, Earl and Glenda Osborne of Vidalia; Louise Williams, Durell Osborne, and Dorsey Osborne all of Savannah; Rodney and Sharon Kauhane and their children, Derek and Kristen of Savannah; Johnny and Sheila Bryan and their children, Nathan and Stephen of Bloomingdale; Sam and Melissa Peters and Buddy of Savannah;  Randy, Marie, and Sophie Brannen all of Texas; Meghan and Mitchell Brannen of Oregon; Danny, Angie and Lauren Brannen of South Carolina; Bonnie and Connie Smith of Jacksonville; special caregivers for the past six years, Kathleen Burdette of Reidsville and Carl’s special kitty, Whiskers; Also survived by number of close friends, Gordon and Kathy Ferguson of Augusta; Bobby, Frances and special granddaughter, Cassie Kennedy, and Danny Anderson all of Reidsville.
Visitation and Funeral Services
Visitation will begin at 6:00pm Friday November 2, 2012 from the Reidsville Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am Saturday, November 3, 2012 from the Reidsville United Methodist Church with the Reverend Marc Foster officiating.  Interment will follow in the Reidsville City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nathan Bryan, Johnny Bryan, Derek Kauhane, Bobby Kennedy, Gordon Ferguson, and Danny Anderson.
Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home, Reidsville Chapel is serving the Preslar family.
