Carol Harper Lindsay, 69, of Reidsville, died January 29, 2014, at Community Hospice, in Vidalia, after a long illness.
Carol was born December 7, 1944, in the doctor’s car, parked in front of the Claxton Bakery. She was the youngest of 11 children, and was always known as the “baby” of the family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse D. Harper, and Docia Todd Harper; her husband, Donald B. Lindsay, Sr.; and several siblings.
Carol worked for many years at Federal Pacific Corporation. She was also a former manager at the local Huddle House, as well as an independent business owner, before retiring in 2003.
She enjoyed reading, and owned an extensive book collection. She liked to work puzzles, and root for the Braves baseball team. She also liked spending time with her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Carol is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Kelly Lindsay of Reidsville; son John Lindsay, and Kathy Palmer, of Reidsville; Brother, Bill and May Harper of Daisy; Sister, June Hendrix of Gastonia, North Carolina; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation is Friday, January 31, at Bradley B. Anderson’s Funeral Home in Reidsville, at 6:00 pm. The funeral will be Saturday, February 1, at 1:00 pm in the chapel at Bradley B. Anderson’s Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Reidsville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Trey Lindsay, John Lindsay, Ricky Harper, Jimmy Harper, Paul Hendrix, and Douglas Stubbs.
