Obituary
Mrs. Carol McCarty
, age 51 passed away Saturday,
December 18, 2010 at Memorial Health Medical
University Center in Savannah. The Washington native
had lived in Tattnall County most of her life. She was a
1977 Reidsville High School and a 1988 Georgia Southern
University Graduate. She was employed with the Tattnall
County School Board for twenty three years and was currently
the 4
th
Grade Science Teacher at Reidsville Elementary School.
She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. McCarty is
preceded in death by her brother, David Bowen and a sister, Norma
Jean Bowen Hamm.
She is survived by her daughters, Coleena McCarty of Montery, CA
Cajeanna McCarty and her fiance’ Travis Hutcheson of Reidsville.
Parents, Bobby and Dorothy Bowen of Collins. Sister, Lisa Douglas
of Alma. Brothers, Jaime Bowen of St. Simons, Jesse Bowen of
Denver, CO., Robert Bowen of Cobbtown. Aunts, Anita Myers of Collins,
Katie Berrian of Alaska, Helen Nelson of Bainbridge, Diana Dunn of
Attapulgus, GA., Bonnie Martin of Myrtle Creek, OR. Uncle, Ricky
Biggerstaff. Father of her daughters, Robert McCarty of Reidsville.
Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Visitation and Funeral Services
Visitation will begin at 6:00pm on Tuesday, from the Reidsville Chapel.
Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00pm Wednesday, December 22, 2010 from
the Reidsville Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home with the Rev. Ricky
McCarty officiating. Interment will follow in the Collins Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bo Spivey, Gavin Jordan, Mathew Waters, Alex Williams,
Tyler Martin, and Jarrett Greene.
