Carolyn Sue Dixon Age 81 passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Community Hospice Center in Vidalia after a 10 year battle with Cancer and Cardiovascular illness. She was born on November 8, 1941 in Lansing Michigan; she is the daughter of Betty and the late William L. Buzan. Her family moved to southern Indiana as a child.  She married her high school sweetheart who had enlisted and joined the Marines where they and their family relocated every few years across the country, but Indiana was always her anchor. In retirement they lived in Jupiter Farms, Florida and later relocated to Statesboro, GA. She was very talented in making crafts and she enjoyed spending her time crocheting beautiful gifts for her family members, especially the new born babies.  She would send a handmade greeting card for holidays and special occasions.  She enjoyed her time spent with the American Kennel Club and the many friends she made through their shared love of Cocker Spaniels. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Joseph Dixon; her father, William L. Buzan.

She is survived by her sons, Mark Dixon and Keith Dixon; daughter, Shari L. (Dixon) Bremekamp; mother, Betty Buzan; daughters-in-law, Amy Dixon and Ann Marie Dixon; son-in-law ,Timothy Bremekamp; two brothers; grandchildren, Ryan Dixon, Alicia (Dixon) Murphy, Katarina Dixon, Elizabeth Dixon; 4 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

She was interned on July 29, 2022 next to her late husband at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery Glennville, GA.

The family will be having a lakeside celebration of Carol’s life in southern Indiana on September 24, 2022.
