Mary Catherine Dutton Evans, age 70 passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Georgia Hospice Care. She was born in Savannah on November 14, 1950 to David Hubert, Sr. and Frances West Dutton and had lived in Glennville for most of her life.   She was a 1968 Glennville High School graduate and had received her Educational Specialist Degree from Georgia Southern University.  Catherine was an educator for over 32 years retiring from Diamond Elementary School on Fort Stewart.  Her favorite hobbies included watching her grandchildren at all of their sporting activities.  If she wasn’t at a sporting event, she could be found at the Huddle House.  She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stephen Daniel Evans and a niece, Bethany Frances Cammack.

She is survived by her daughter, Amy Dutton (Charlie) Kicklighter of Glennville; grandchildren, Chaz Kicklighter, Brady Kicklighter, Brody Kicklighter and Kenny Murphy all of Glennville; brothers, David Hubert (Sabrina) Dutton, Jr. of Charleston, SC., Paul Eden (Donna) Dutton of Glennville, Clayton Joseph (Suzanne) Dutton of Glennville; sister, Lori Frances Dutton (Barry) Cammack of Glennville; 10 nephews, 4 nieces, several great-nieces and nephews. Her fur babies, Buddy and Bit, and many special friends also survive.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 22, 2021 beginning 6:00pm at the Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm, Friday, April 23, 2021 from the Chapel of Glennville Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in the Glennville City Cemetery,

Pallbearers will be Bart Dutton, Tyson Dutton, Logen Cammack, Jason Dutton, Ethan Dutton, Trey Dutton. Honorary pallbearers will be Cameron Dutton, Landen Cammack, Tanner Dutton and Lane Dutton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tattnall CARES.
