Cedric Leon Johnson

January 9, 1963 — November 16, 2024

Reidsville

Cedric Leon Johnson fell asleep peacefully on November 16, 2024 at home surrounded by family. Cedric was born on January 9, 1963 in Washington D.C. to Ernest and Jaunita Johnson. He was the youngest of the two boys. In 1969 the Johnson family moved back to their hometown, Reidsville, Georgia. At the age of 16 he decided to dedicate his life as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He began pioneering as a young adult and that began his lifelong love for the ministry. He also served as an elder and ministerial servant throughout his service to Jehovah. He loved telling people about Jehovah and he served him faithfully until the very end. In his early 20’s he began his business, Custom Automotive. He successfully ran the business for almost 40 years. His love for cars and working fueled his determination to continue to work despite his nearly 6 year battle with cancer.

On June 21, 1986 Cedric married Ellen Williams, his devoted wife of 38 years. They enjoyed serving Jehovah together, traveling, and spending time with their families especially their nieces and nephews. One of the highlights of their many travels around the world was the Special Convention in Riga, Latvija. That trip was dear to their hearts. They often spoke about spending life in the new world without sickness and death. Ellen was by his side until the very end.

Cedric was sincere and genuine. He enjoyed joking, laughing, and he had a great sense of humor. He was also honest and you always knew what he was thinking. He was a true people person.

Cedric is survived by his wife, Ellen; parents, Ernest and Jaunita Johnson and older brother, Anthony (Stephenie) Johnson. He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
