Charles E. Brisbin, Sr. age 82, passed away on August 1, 2021, at St. Joseph/Candler Hospital in Savannah. He was born on August 1, 1939, in Birmingham AL to George H and Mary Brisbin. During his formative years, the family would move to Florida; ultimately, he would be in the first graduating class at the new Chamberlain High School in Tampa when it opened in 1956. Following graduation, he would go on to join the United States Army where he would serve his country for over 26 years. His military career would take him all over the world, including two tours in Vietnam. Charles was particularly proud of his service as a Chaplain Assistant during some of the toughest days for the soldiers. After retiring he set out on his second career with Lockheed Martin where he would retire for the 2nd time after working over 20 years. In his retirement he would go on to volunteer on the B-17 bomber restoration project for the Mighty 8th Air Force Museum. Above all else in his life, however, his service to his Lord was his greatest joy. He was a devoted member of Central Christian Church in Savannah and served in all capacities needed. After a lifetime of dedication and devotion to God and country; Charles has surely gained his Heavenly reward. It is fitting that a man so devoted had his Heavenly birthday on the same day as his physical birth.
