Reidsville/Lyons,
Mr. Charles E. Cooper, age 73, passed away Monday, June 23, 2014 at the Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia after an extended illness. Charles was a native of Toombs County having graduated from Lyons High School in 1960. Upon graduation he joined the United States Air Force. He was employed by the Federal Government for all of his working career having retired from the Social Security Administration in 1995. Upon his retirement he moved to Reidsville to be with his family. Charles was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed woodworking and tinkering with old cars. He was preceded in death by his mother, Maggie Cooper McCarty.
Survivors include one brother, Kenneth Cooper, of Locust Grove; two sisters, Gladene Cooper Oliver and Linda Cooper Nail (Gene) both of Reidsville. Three Nephews, Eben Roberts of Reidsville, Brian Kennedy of Collins, Kenny Cooper of Locust Grove; two nieces, Melody Lightsy of Stilson, and Susie Godfrey of Locust Grove.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 25 2014 from 6pm until 8 pm from the Reidsville Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory
Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from the Reidsville City Cemetery with the Reverend Larry Spence officiating. Military Honors will be rendered by the United States Air Force.
Pallbearers will be Eben Roberts, Brian Kennedy, Kenny Cooper, Fred Lightsy, and Dewey Nail.
