Charles Daniel Dasher of Glennville, passed away Thursday, August 7, 2014 after a short illness. He was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, Dan and Gladys Dasher, his sister and brother-in-law, Ulma Lee and Edwin Anderson, and sister-in-law, Patsy Dasher.
Charles is survived by his wife of 46 ½ years, Mary Kate Dasher, daughters and sons in law, Katey and Jerry Waters, Jenny and Jeffrey Folsom, and Amy and Jimmy Thompson and nine grandchildren. He is also survived by six siblings and their spouses, Julian and Louise Dasher, Eugene and Barbara Dasher, Eddy and Margie Dasher, Linda and Joe Brannen, and Wayne and Julie Dasher. Charles is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Charles graduated from Glennville High School in 1955. He attended Georgia Southern College where he majored in Accounting.
Charles retired from civil service in the Finance and Accounting Office at Ft. Stewart. Following his retirement he was partnered with his brothers in several businesses known as Dasher Brothers’. He was co-owner of Dasher-Blocker Income Tax Service in Glennville.
Charles was a devoted husband, Daddy, “Papa”, Uncle and friend. He was widely known for growing beautiful roses, cooking for his family, and playing “Setback” with his family and friends. Charles was loved by all who knew him, and he always thought the best of everyone.
Charles was a member of Ebenezer Free Will Baptist Church.
Visitation will begin at 6:00pm Friday, August 8, 2014 from Low Country Cremation Services and Burial (formerly Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home). Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am Saturday, August 9, 2014 from the Ebenezer Free Will Baptist Church with Dr. Rick Cason and Dr. Glen Dasher officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Danny Anderson, Shane Brannen, Shad Dasher, Michael McCrary, Neal Anderson and Kerry Dasher.
Memorials may be given to Ebenezer Free Will Baptist Church 1580 Ebenezer Church Road Glennville, GA 30427.
Low Country Cremation Services and Burial is serving the Dasher family.
