Reidsville GA
Mr. Charles Gay was born on January 28, 1949 to the late Mr. Tinnie Boy and Mrs. Arsula Richardson Gay, in Manassas GA. He entered eternal rest on Thursday August 30, 2018 at his home after a brief illness. The Georgia native lived much of his life living between Georgia and Florida before settling down in Reidsville 14 years ago. Charles was a professional landscaper during his working years and developed a love for the great outdoors. One of his favorite hobbies was fishing. The family recalls his most successful trip was the day that he caught over 100 catfish. Fishing was his pastime, but riding his bicycle was his passion. He rode many miles daily, enjoying the fresh air and scenery. Charles was best known for his larger than life personality. He loved to laugh and was always a happy person. Late in his life he fought and beat colon cancer, and never complained about his treatments or the other illnesses he had. He was a true friend to all who met him, Charles will be deeply missed. Charles is preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers John Henry Gay, Joe Lewis Gay, James Perston Gay, Virgil Gay, and Harry Gay; 4 sisters, Thenell Gay Baker, Aretha Gay Williams, Melrose Hall, and Linda B. Gay.
