Mr. Charles J. Sikes, Jr . age 65 passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah surrounded by his family.  The Tattnall County native had lived in Collins all of his life.  He was retired from the Tattnall County Road Department.  He enjoyed seeing about his grandchildren, riding his tractor and tending to his flowers.  Charles was a faithful member of Hope Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 42yrs, Cheryl Sikes of Collins; children, Jamie (Tammy) Sikes of Toombs County, Kristi Sikes of Collins; sister, Dora Jane (Wayne) Bowen of Collins; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will begin at 6:00pm on Thursday from the Reidsville Chapel.  Funeral services will be conducted 2:30pm Friday, September 20, 2013 from the Reidsville Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home with the Reverends Tom Shepard and Wally Hill officiating.  Interment will follow in the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Donavan Murray, Joe Alexander, Steven Bowen, Jose Rueda, Harold Pye and Dale Ray.
