Charles Spikes

Mr. Charles Spikes, age 85, passed away Friday, December 4, 2020 at Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia.  He was born in Reidsville on July 19, 1935 to Herod and Katie Walker Spikes and had lived in Reidsville most of his life.  He was a US Army Veteran and had retired after 34 years of service as Chief Engineer Senior from the Georgia Department of Corrections.  He had also worked as a Consultant for the City of Reidsville.  Mr. Charles enjoyed fishing, hunting and was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Leroy, Audy, Edwin (Tetsie), Sanford, and Jesse Spikes; sisters, Inez Crews and Cora Lee Garrett.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mrs. Mary Lou Spikes; children, Greg Spikes  of Alston, GA and Belinda (Jim) Waters of Reidsville; siblings, Terry Spikes of Lyons, Jeanie Morgan of Savannah and Joanie (Kester) Williford of Louisville; grandchildren, Justin Jarriel, Dalton (Ginny) Rushing, and Alexis Waters; great grandchildren, Georgia Grace Rushing, John Ray Rushing, and Landon Jarriel; numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm on Monday, December 7, 2020 at the Reidsville City Cemetery with the Reverend Andrew Nelms officiating.

Pallbearers will be Tony Hutcheson, Dale Guy, Randall Murray, Rodney Deloach, Derrick Duckworth and James Waters.
