Christine “Chris” Davidson, formerly of
Plattsburgh, NY, died on April 19, 2014 in
Beaufort, SC from complications of
Alzheimer’s disease at the age 69 with
her husband and son by her side.
She was born January 15, 1945 in
Plattsburgh, NY to the late Clyde and
Helen Miller of Dannemora, NY.
Chris was a graduate of Dannemora High
School, attended Buffalo State and graduated
from the State University of New York at
Plattsburgh. She served in a variety of executive
secretary positions as she and her husband
traveled the country. While raising their child in
Virginia, Chris worked as a civilian at Quantico
Marine Corps base, both as a computer programmer
and later as a health educator. She retired in 2007 and
returned to Plattsburgh with her husband. As Chris’ illness
progressed, she and her husband moved to Beaufort in
2012 to be closer to their son and his family.
Chris was a yoga instructor for the last 20 years and she
and her husband loved to sail their boat along the East Coast.
They also spent many years exploring New Zealand, Australia,
France, Italy, Turkey, Canada, England, the Bahamas and all 50
states together.
She is survived by her husband, Larry, of 49 years, her son
and daughter-in-law, Nick and Holly, her grandchildren Taylor
and Hannah, and her sisters Linda Whitlock and Nancy Wheeler.
Chris was pre-deceased by her brother Timothy Miller of Glens
Falls, NY.
Services will be held at Dannemora United Methodist Church on
April 26 2014 at 1:00 pm at 86 Clark Street in Dannemora, NY.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the American Cancer Society.
