Chris Durrence, age 49, passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021, in Emanuel County. He was born January 14, 1972, in Metter and had lived in Tattnall County all his life. He was a lineman for Pike Electric for many years and recently started in the construction industry. Chris enjoyed fishing, hunting, and “riding the roads" with his grandkids. He was of the Baptist faith and is preceded in death by his mother, Marie Waters Scott; grandparents, Charles and Dot Bashelor, Mary Stephens Helland and Harris and Oleta Durrence and a brother-in-law, Michael Harvey.
He is survived by his daughter, Jannah Durrence (Damien Brooks) of Collins; his parents, Joe and Lillian Durrence of Reidsville; siblings, Shawnna (Zach) Brunner of Arizona, Desiree (Jared) West, Tabitha (Brett) Warren all of Reidsville, and Ashley (Tina) Durrence of Collins; grandchildren, Autumn, Emily, Charlene and Christopher; nieces and nephews, Alexis Johnson, Ethan Johnson, Layla Brunner, Dusty West, Natalie Gore, Slater West, Chelsie Rivera, Taylor Harvey, Kassie Warren, Colby Durrence, Ansley Durrence and Callen Durrence.
The family will receive friends at 12:00pm on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, with the funeral services to follow at 1:00pm from the Chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial with Dr. Charles Jonas officiating. Interment will follow in the Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Richard Lynn, Dusty West, Damien Brooks, Rodney Todd, Mark Durrence, and Don Sikes.
