Christy L. (Shuman) Bishop

Mrs. Christy Lynn Shuman Bishop, age 60, of Conyers, Georgia passed away on 21 June 2016 at the Atlanta Hospice at Piedmont Hospital after a brief illness.  She was born in Lyons and graduated from Lyons Sr. High School in 1973. As a military dependent, she lived in Kansas, Arkansas and France. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  She also was a city letter carrier in Atlanta with the United States Postal Service for 10 years. She enjoyed making crafts and doing what she could for others. She was preceded in death by her parents, William L. Shuman and Lois “Dean” Willis Shuman; and one sister, Tracey Shuman Hughes.  She was Baptist by faith.

Mrs. Shuman is survived by her husband, Walt Bishop of Conyers, GA; daughter, Amanda Gray of Stockbridge, GA;  son, Jamie Gray and his wife Dona of Stockbridge, GA ; brother, John Shuman and wife Susan of Las Vegas, NV and nine  grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held Friday, June 24th at 11:00 am in the chapel of the Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home in Reidsville, GA with Rev. Diana Griffin officiating.  Interment will follow in the Pinecrest Cemetery in Vidalia, GA.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.

Pallbearers will be Christian Gray, Seth Gray, Trevor Gray, Mathew Howell, Dusty Ethridge, and  Trey Brewer.
