Meldrim

Clarice Kicklighter Wilds, age 93, passed away Friday, October 6, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her family and under the care of Compassionate Care Hospice.  She was born September 15, 1924 in Glennville to Bruce “Bub” and Mamie Durrence Kicklighter and had  lived in Meldrim for most of her life.  She was a homemaker and a member of Meldrim Baptist Church.  Mrs. Clarice loved to read, dance, play basketball and watch the Atlanta Braves.  Her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.   She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 63 years, Lonnie Wilds; siblings, Hubert Kicklighter and Joyce Stubbs.

She is survived by her sons, Bruce (Catherine) Wilds of Midway, Franklin (Kathy) Wilds of Brooklet;  daughter, Darlene (Steve) Smith of Eden; grandchildren, Katrina Smith, William Wilds, Jr., Stacy Anne Gooding, Steven Smith; great-grandchildren, Tanner Cobb, Colt Wilds, Payton Gooding, Dalton Gooding, Paisley Gooding; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will begin at 10:00am Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Meldrim Baptist Church with funeral services to follow at 11:00am with the Reverends Darrell Bailey and  Dan Bryant officiating. Interment will follow the services in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be William Wilds, Steven Smith, Steve Smith, Mark Gooding, Tanner Cobb and Junior Myers.
