Savannah, GA
Clinton “Duck” Durwood McCord, age 60, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2023, at his residence after a short illness. The Chatham County native would attend Chatham County Schools and ultimately graduate from Johnson High School. Following graduation, he would go on to work as an industrial contractor. Much of his career would be spent at the sugar refinery; most recently working with a contractor (Stokes) at the refinery. In his free time Clint would often be found on the golf course. He was an avid golfer and loved the courses in and around Savannah. Nothing, however, brought him greater joy than spending time with his grandkids. You would never know what wild and crazy things “Pops” would get into with them! Be it climbing the roof to scare everyone (except the fearless kids) or just throwing a ball in the yard he loved every moment he could share with them. Above all else in life, he prided himself on being a devoted husband, a loving father, and a fun and carefree “Pops” to his grandkids. He will be dearly missed by all whose lives he touched. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Evan & Betty Jane King (maternal) and John & Sallie Kate McCord (paternal), and a brother, Donald Joseph McCord, Jr.
Left to cherish memories of a life well lived is his wife, Betty Susan McCord; children, Chad & Dhel McCord, Stacie & Chris Smiley, Kacie & Toby Gaddis, and April & Wade Moore; parents, Donald & Marilyn McCord; grandchildren, Summer, Autumn, Kenzie, Kade, Jayden & Everly Jo; Father-in-law Claude Edge; sister-n-laws Vicky Bennett, Tammy & Brad Braddock, Lisa Fowler, and Claudette & Eric Gerber; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends also survive.
