Conrad "Joey" Joseph Iler, age 62, passed away on September 21, 2024, at East Georgia Hospital in Statesboro. He was born in Great Falls, Montana, to Harper John Iler, Sr. and Maggie Jean Davis Iler. Conrad was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He began farming at the age of 12 and had a lifelong passion for working outdoors. He excelled in all aspects of his work, including equipment operation, recycling, and landscaping. Additionally, Conrad was instrumental in establishing the Nevils Volunteer Fire Department, where he proudly served as a volunteer firefighter for 20 years. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, spending time with family and friends, and hosting barbecues.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Karen Iler; his son, Daniel Iler; his mother-in-law, Betty Ray; his father-in-law, Bill Morris; his sister-in-law, Betty Jean (Kenny) Jandovitz; his brothers-in-law, Ashley (Pam) Milton, Mark (Angie) Leathers, and Darren (Kim) Strean; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Conrad was preceded in death by his parents, Harper John Iler, Sr. and Maggie Jean Davis Iler; his grandmother, Effie Keel Parker; his grandfather, John Parker; his grandmother, Mamie Davis; his grandfather, Conrad Davis; and his siblings, Rhonda, Lisa, Jenny, Tonya, and John Harper Iler, Jr.
A service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Nevils Crossroad Church, 8351 Nevils Groveland Rd., Nevils, GA with the Reverend Russell Black officiating.
Low Country Cremation and Burial is serving the Iler family.
