Cristina Asta Gonzalez

Cristina Asta Gonzalez, age 97 passed away peacefully at her home on December 16, 2023. Born on July 24, 1926, in Mexico, Cristina led a life filled with love, kindness, and devotion to her family.

Cristina will always be remembered for her passion for sewing, her love for reading the Bible, and her nurturing nature when it came to taking care of her plants. These simple pleasures brought her joy and fulfillment throughout her life.

Cristina was preceded in death by her parents, Apolinar Asta and Mersedes Gonzalez; as well as her children, Angel Sotelo Asta, Agustin Sotelo Asta, and LeoVardo Sotelo Asta. 

She is survived by her children: Fidel (Eloisa) Sotelo Asta of Glennville, Rodolfo (Angelica) Sotelo Asta of Mexico, Guadalupe (Paulino) Resendis of Glennville, and Jacoba (Rodolfo) Sotelo Asta of Michigan. Cristina also leaves behind her sister Agapita Asta Gonzalez in Mexico. 

To honor Cristina's life and mourn her passing, there will be several services held. The first event is a visitation on December 19th from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at The Glennville Funeral Home located at 403 W. Barnard Street in Glennville, GA.

On the same day at The Glennville Funeral Home chapel from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, a prayer service will take place to offer solace and support during this difficult time. 

A Mass will be held on December 20th at 2:00 PM at St. Jude Catholic Church, located at 911 North Main Street in Glennville, GA. Interment will follow in the Glennville Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Pedro Sotelo, Kevin Sotelo, Juan Angel Martinez, Rigoberto Cruz, Paulino Resendis, Fidel Sotelo, and Thomas Resendis.
