Cynthia Susan (Waters) O'Neal

Cynthia “Cindy” Susan O’Neal , age 62, passed away Friday, March 3, 2017 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Savannah surrounded by her family.  The Americus native had lived in Reidsville most of her life.  She retired from the Georgia Department of Corrections after twenty years of service.  Cindy loved fishing, hunting, cooking, and tending to her flowers.  She was a member of the Cutting Horse Association and was preceded in death by her parents, Romie and Emily Jo Waters and her grandmother, Iris Johnson.

She is survived by her children, David (Tabitha) Smith of Reidsville, Domini (David) Horne of Helena, and Rusty (Jennifer) O’Neal of Reidsville; brothers, Jim (Belinda) Waters and Joe (Sandy) Waters all of Reidsville, loving friend, Wayne Campbell of Lyons; eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Sunday from the funeral home.  Funeral services will be conducted 3:00pm Monday, March 6, 2017 from the Chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial with the Reverend David Moxley officiating.  Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Americus, GA.

Memorials may be given to the Tattnall County Animal Shelter.
