Dan James Singleton

On Tuesday March 12, 2019, God called his son home. Dan Singleton was born on August 22, 1950 to the late Edward and Leary Mae Singleton. He was reared in Liberty County Georgia and attended Liberty County Public Schools. In 1971, he relocated to Brooklyn, NY. and resided there for over 20 years. He was employed with Harris Construction Company for several years before relocating back to Georgia. Dan was an active member at  Mt. Zion Outreach Ministries Church where he served faithfully as President of the Usher Board and a loyal employee of the church organization. He also was employed as a floor tech with several other businesses such as E&E Automotive and Strickland Pharmacy. Dan was a very loving person who enjoyed watching his favorite football team, the New York Giants, and his favorite basketball player LeBron James. He was well known for cooking very tasteful meals especially BBQ, giving him the nickname “Dan the BBQ Man.” He also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

He leaves to cherish his beautiful wife of 14 years, Karen Mitchell Singleton of Glennville; 3 beautiful children, Lori Davis of Reidsville, John Davis, III of Statesboro and Rochelle Davis of Hinesville; 5 grandchildren, Saniyah, Ron Jr, John VI, Destiny, and Journee; he also helped raised several nieces and nephews; 8 siblings, Dorothy Cooper of Kingstree, SC., Curtis (Sylvia) Singleton of Brooklyn, NY., Peggy (Clarence)  Gadson of Savannah, Earnest Singleton of Brooklyn, NY., Wendell Singleton of Hinesville, Virginia Hills of Atlanta, Jeril (Marie) Singleton of Philadelphia, PA. and Brenda Roberts of Midway; He was preceded in death by his 3 siblings, Terry Singleton, Edward Singleton, Jr, and Tracy Singleton; Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

Family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Mt. Zion Outreach Ministries Church.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am Wednesday, March 20, 2019 from the Chapel of Glennville Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Glennville Memorial Gardens.
