Dan Raymond Williams, age 67, passed away November 5, 2014 after an extended illness. The Collins native was a free spirit who loved to travel. If one were to ask Dan if he wanted to go out of town, he would always reply, “If you’re waiting on me, you’re backing up.” In addition to his love of travel, he was a talented mechanic. He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Ann Jane Williams.
Dan is survived by his wife, Rosalinda Williams of Collins; a son, Tommy Williams of Wrightsville; a step-son Carlos Espinoza of Reidsville; two step-daughters Azeneth (Jesus) Vielma of Reidsville and Mayra (Humberto) Ovalle of Reidsville GA; two uncles Ben Porter of Palatka FL and Don Porter of Macon; several relatives on the Williams side; several nieces and nephews; special friends Jose Rueda and Rose Strickland of Collins ; long-time caregivers Brenda and Jim Cowart of Collins.
Visitation is scheduled for Saturday November 8, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory. The funeral will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. with Brother Jim Cowart officiating. Burial will be held at Anderson Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins.
