Glennville,
Daniel Christopher Dowdy, age 24, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Optim Hospital in Reidsville from injuries sustained in a boating accident. He was born April 21, 1995 in Manassas, Virginia and the family moved to Glennville when he was four months old. Daniel was a 2014 graduate of Tattnall County High School and a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church. Growing up in the south, he loved all things outdoors, including hunting and fishing. One of his more exotic passions was bull riding. He was the one that loved the rush of adrenaline and no matter what he was doing, he just loved going fast! After graduation he followed in his father’s footsteps and began work with Dowdy Electric. A skilled electrician, he learned the trade very quickly and was an invaluable asset to the company and community at large. Daniel lived each day to the fullest and made the most of them. His zeal for life and love for his friends and family will never be forgotten; the love he leaves behind will live on forever. Daniel was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jay and Elizabeth Barnes and maternal great grand parents, Carl and Mildred Bell; paternal grandfather, Daniel Christopher Dowdy; paternal great grandparents, Wren and Vida Dowdy and John Warner and Mary Beth Branch.
