Mr. Daniel Jackson, Sr. was born July 19, 1942 in Reidsville GA to the late Mr. William and Mrs. Hazel Jackson.  He departed this life on August 17, 2017 in Vidalia GA.  Daniel attended the Tattnall County School system.  After school he moved to New York where he met and married the late Laura Jackson.  To this lovely union, two sons were born.  The family resided in New York and Georgia before settling in Virginia where he was a truck driver for Southern Brink and retired after 15+ years.  After retirement, he returned home to Reidsville to family and old friends.  Daniel had a genuine love for people and a big heart.  He loved his family.  He was so proud of his son’s and “the girls” and their accomplishments.  He was a devoted father and grandfather.  They would always be mentioned in his daily conversations.  He was a loving brother, the coolest uncle, and an unforgettable friend.  Daniel is preceded in death by his parents William and Hazel Jackson, his wife Laura Jackson, and his brother J.C. Jackson.

He leaves behind to cherish beloved memories; his sons, Daniel Jackson Jr. of Manassas VA and Mark Jackson of Richmond VA; granddaughters Fantasia Jackson of Manassas VA and Destiny Jackson of Atlanta GA; sisters Ellene Jackson, Betty Jean Jackson, and Agnes Jackson all of Reidsville and Gloria Jackson of New York; brother in laws Winfield Johnston of Savannah GA and Dick Johnston of New York; loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive.

Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, August 22, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the chapel of Low Country Cremation & Burial.

Funeral services will follow the visitation on Wednesday, August 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Low Country Cremation & Burial.

Pallbearers will be Randall Howard, John (Skeeter) Lawson, Henry (Man) Smith, Curtis Colwell, Glen Brown, Charles Jackson, J.J. Smith, Robert Guest, and Garland Smith.
