Profile of Life
For if our heart condemn us, GOD is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.
1 John 3:20
A Time to Be Born….
Darlene Gordon was born on April 22, 1962 to the late Benjamin and Irene Gordon. She was the seventh child of seven siblings.
A Time to Live…..
Darlene Gordon graduated from Sol C. Johnson High School in Savannah, Georgia. She attended Garvin Temple Baptist church where she served as a choir member for many years. She was a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) at Chatham Nursing Home, now named Riverview. She was a faithful and loving sister who loved children. She loved being the candy lady to all kids, especially her nieces and nephews. She spoke a lot about Jesus Christ our Lord and accepted him as her personal savior. Her personal name, given by her father, was daddy’s buppity bump because she liked bumping on the sofa with her sisters. Darlene gave everybody in the family a special name that she always referred to when talking to them. No matter how sick she was, she was always a pleasure to be around as she kept us laughing. A Time to Die….. “Come unto me, ye weary! And I will give you rest.” On Tuesday, July 1, 2014, God called Darlene home, for He loved her best. A Time to Mourn…..
She leaves to mourn six sisters (and spouses): Deborah Wright (James), Agatha Howard, Citronella Lambert (Willie), Michelle Howsia (Kenneth), Lucretia Young, and Janet Thomas, several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
