Darlene "Dot" Elisa (Hutcheson) Burnsed

March 21, 1962 — June 20, 2023

Collins

Darlene "Dot" Hutcheson Burnsed, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her beloved family and under the compassionate care of Community Hospice. She was born in Vidalia on March 21, 1962, to the late Monce and Lucille Merritt Hutcheson. However, Dot considered Tattnall County her home, as most of her life was spent there.  Throughout her life, Dot exhibited the essence of dedication, passion, and unwavering love.  A prime example of that dedication was during her career.  She would spend many years working at JJ Greenhouses. Her love was evident as she embraced her role at home, nurturing her family and attending to their every need. In her free time, she expressed her passion and gave much of her time to nurturing various plants. Many were envious of her "green thumb", as she had the innate ability to produce thriving gardens and grow beautiful flowers. Her touch could make anything grow, and she prided herself on bringing added beauty to the world around her.  Her affinity for plant life underscored her deeper appreciation for the great outdoors.  Dot found solace in all of God’s creation, but she especially loved the serenity of fishing and the thrill of hunting.  Her loving spirit will be forever treasured by all who were fortunate enough to have known her. Dot is preceded in death by her beloved husband Hannie Tross Burnsed, her parents, her brother Monce Hutcheson Jr., and her nephew Larry “P-Nut” Powell.

She is survived by children, Belinda Burnsed of Reidsville, Amanda Burnsed Leggett of Claxton, and Andrew Jordan of Savannah; siblings, Arlene Sapp of Collins, Rocky Hutcheson of Reidsville, Ricky Hutcheson of Cedar Crossing, and Jerry Hutcheson of Reidsville; 4 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00pm on Saturday, June 24, 2023, with the funeral services to follow at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial with Rev. Andrew Nelms officiating.  Interment will follow in the Reidsville City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Rob Hutcheson, Dusty Hutcheson, Jay Leggett, Andrew Jordan, Davy Lewis, and Travis Jones.
