Darryl "Steven" Goode
September 26, 1981 - October 15, 2024
Darryl "Steven" Goode, 43, passed away on October 15, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and faith. Born on September 26, 1981, Steven was a man who lived his life with purpose and passion. His greatest joy in life was being a devoted husband to Sheri Goode, with whom he shared the last 17 years, and a loving father to his son, Jordan Alexis Goode.
Steven was known for his vibrant personality and his ability to connect with people from all walks of life. He never met a stranger, and his infectious smile and sense of humor left a lasting impact on everyone he met. A hard worker, Steven took great pride in providing for his family, and despite the challenges he faced after a life-changing accident in 2015 that took away his ability to walk, he remained a source of positivity and strength. Though he struggled with being confined to a wheelchair, many would not have known, as he maintained his optimism and kindness, spreading joy to those around him.
Steven had a lifelong love for basketball and spent much of his time collecting basketball cards. He also had a passion for collecting guns and ammunition. Known for his impeccable sense of style, Steven was always clean, fresh, and well-dressed. With a closet full of shoes, clothes, and hats, and a collection of flashy gold jewelry, he took pride in always looking his best.
Steven's faith in the Lord was unwavering, and his love for his family and friends was evident in everything he did. If you had the opportunity to meet Steven and experience his love, compassion, and humor, you were truly fortunate. He would help anyone in need without judgment, and when he said "I love you," he meant it with all his heart. Steven will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him. He is preceded in death by several loved ones who now welcome him into Heaven: John Futch, Gustavo Agosto "Shorty," Dottie Schul, and Elvie Stone.
He is survived by his wife Sheri Goode and their son Jordan Alexis Goode. He is also survived by his mother Maria Carbajal, father Darryl (Danita) Goode, and grandmothers Natividad Crave (Damian Vargas) and Margaret Goode. His family includes his mother-in-love Lori (Bill) Bruna, father-in-love Bruce Schul ("Pops"), and his siblings Yomar Goode, Daniel Pierre Lou’s, Alex Gallardo, Enrique Carbajal, Anthony Goode, John Del Valle, Paul Del Valle, and James (Constance) Schul. His sisters Rocio Carbajal, Janean Del Valle, Victoria (Gabriel) Perez, Katie (Justin) King, and Marybeth (Dawson King) Futch also mourn his passing. Steven leaves behind many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
There were many people who held a special place in Steven's heart, including Carlos (Stephanie) Santiago, Moises Cortijo Tanco from Caimito, Puerto Rico, Don Harrelson, his little best friend Noah Herrington, and his intercessor and sister-in-Christ, Bruni Fillion.
